Obituary of John (Jack) Beaumont
At North York General Hospital on February 3, 2023.
John was predeceased by his wife, Penelope Zeta Beaumont. He will be missed by his children: Michael Beaumont, Susan Beaumont (Terry Forbes) and Lisa Beaumont, as well as his grandchildren: Chelsea, Tamsin, Tess, Celena, Silas and Lawrence. John loved nature and instilled that trait in his children. He loved camping, canoeing, hiking and gardening, belonged to the Police Bowling League and played minor league baseball, representing the Halton Hills Community.
John was a respected Sergeant for the Metropolitan Toronto Police Service, where he proudly served for 40 years, and was awarded by the Lieutenant Governor for an excellent job. He was also a pillar of his community, attending the Church of the Transfiguration for over 50 years.
John was known as Jack by people who knew him well, a nickname he was given as a young child growing up in Glen Williams, Georgetown, where he met his wife. John’s family owned the Beaumont Knitting Mill, where he would tell his three children that he worked there at 12 years of age.
There will be a Eucharistic Requiem Mass for John at the Church of the Transfiguration, 111 Manor Road East, Toronto on Saturday, April 22nd at 10:30 a.m. followed by a catered lunch in the Narthex. We will depart for the Cemetery at approximately 1:30 p.m. John will be put to rest beside Penelope, in Glen Williams Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed (Zoom) as well, for those who cannot attend.
Charitable donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society or the Church of the Transfiguration.
John’s great presence, honesty, integrity and love will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his beloved animals, especially Coco, Shadow and Laddie.
