Obituary of Lawrence Murray Carriere

Larry Carriere entered eternal life peacefully at home on February 3rd, 2023 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was 81 years of age. Larry is preceded by his father Jack, his mother Rita, his brother John (Evelyn), his brother Paul (Elizabeth). He will be always loved and incredibly missed by his adoring wife Marietta, his treasured daughter Pamela, and his cherished son Marcel.

Larry had the great courage to change the direction of his life, in his mid-40’s. In his own words, he loved to dance, and wanted to have his very own dancing partner. He protected his dreams of having a family, and pushed hard for what he wanted in this life. He taught us all with his life legacy to always know dreams can come true, at any age. After leaving the active ministry, he constantly looked for ways to engage in social justice and peace keeping.

A lover of the great outdoors and nature, music and art, and great food. Larry always ensured to take a moment to enjoy the wonders of our world. He always made time to smell the roses, to touch the breathing trees, to listen to the sounds of the birds singing, to witness the soaring wings of the hawk, to feel the running waters of the rivers in the ravine.

He made an impact on any and everyone who met him, through his kindness, resilience, humility, and faith.

Larry's life was coloured by the years he spent with the Passionists Community.
