Obituary of Glendora Weiler
Glendora (Glennie) passed away on January 13, 2023 at Michael Garron Hospital, only seven weeks before her 97th birthday. Until her final days she exhibited wonderful manners, thanking everyone who came to visit her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Weiler (May 24, 2012). She was a loving and caring mother to her daughter, Karen, with many nieces and nephews in Ontario and Alberta.
From the age of 19 Glendora worked for Eaton’s starting in Alberta, moving to Montreal and eventually Toronto, retiring at the age of 65. She enjoyed working and was proud of her career.
After retiring she became involved with Stan Wadlow Community Centre, delivering food to people in need. She was a talented knitter and with other ladies, knitted baby booties, hats and mitts which were donated to Holy Cross Catholic Church. A once in a lifetime experience was going on a cruise with the parish ladies group. Her Alberta roots were on display during her line dancing days and she loved watching curling on
TV. Go, Brad Gushue!
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors for their care of Glendora and the priests and ministers who met her spiritual needs.
The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue from 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23rd. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m. and will be followed by a reception at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be appreciated.
