On behalf of the Black Family, I want to offer my condolences to Meta and all the Mills family. I have so many fond memories of times on Anwoth Road and Glen Road particularly where Colin was always the consummate host, making everyone welcome, well fed and laughing. He and Meta were always quick to include my mother, sister and me in many wonderful celebrations, including their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries. "Dad" also was generous to step in and walk my sister down the aisle at her wedding at St. Matthias in Westmount - a gesture that was so loving and thoughtful - especially considering that Cathy went into labour the night of Sandra's wedding! Colin will always be lovingly remembered by me and my sister.

Dear Meta and Family:
Our profound condolences to all of you on Colin's passing. He was an exceptional individual and a gift to all of us who had the good fortune to have had him in our lives. It is comforting to know that his retirement years were so rich and rewarding.
While Colin and I had both spent the bulk of our business careers with Towers Perrin, most of the time we were located in different Canadian offices. We got better acquainted In 1984, when I returned to Toronto from Vancouver. By then, thanks, in part, to Colin's fine work, Towers Perrin had become firmly established as a major player in the field of compensation consulting in Canada, and Colin had developed an enviable list of executive compensation clients. In the years that followed, I came to know and admire this very genuine man and his professionalism, warmth, enthusiasm, sense of humour, curiosity, creativity, love of life. He was a force for good; there is no doubt about it. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and appreciated his friendship and assistance during that time. Clearly his was a life well lived.
We regret we cannot be with you today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

One of the highlights of my life was knowing and working with Colin. He had a way of making you feel important to his success. And I felt privileged to have had the opportunity to be there to keep him on track. One of our daily laughs was when he sometimes could not remember where and who, he should be meeting with. But like me, his clients seemed to have the greatest respect for him because he was so good at what he did and so personable that no one, absolutely no one, could ever be mad at him. Thank you Colin for sharing your family and time with me. You will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to your entire family. Rest in peace dear Colin.

To Meta and family,
Bob and I are deeply saddened by Colin's passing.
Our friendship with Meta and Colin goes back about 40 years. I think the first time we met was when Cathy invited us to dinner at her parents' place on Shaftesbury. We came armed with a bottle of Creme de Cassis and Colin's eyes lit up. He then immediately set about preparing Kir Royale's for us all.
There were many delicious meals together on Shaftesbury and later at their lovely home in Mulmur.
Circumstances led to us not seeing Meta and Colin for several years but when the extended family moved around the corner, we picked up where we left off, sharing good food and conversation. Colin's curiosity and interest in others was just as vibrant as ever.
Bob and I feel fortunate to have known Colin and hope that Meta and the family can take solace knowing that he is now resting peacefully.

To the Mills family,
Lydia and I send our condolences on Colin's passing. I have known Colin and Meta and family since I was in late high school. They were incredibly welcoming to all of their children's friends then and ever since. I always admired Colin's inquiring mind, sense of humour, and drive. We enjoyed being guests at many a delicious and raucous family dinner as Colin set world record times in demolishing the delicious meals that he often had helped prepare. I have never seen anyone eat so quickly in my life.
Colin wqs very helpful to me early in my career and we ended up being colleagues for a brief time at Towers Perrin. He always reveled in the opportunity to introduce me as "Buckwheat" (my nickname from childhood) to fellow Towers Perrin colleagues and then watch me have to explain the back story to my name.
We also shared a love of choral music and the traditions of the Anglican Church. Colin and Meta and family were regular guests of our choir's Christmas concerts and his delight in good choral music was obvious every time.
Colin showed his pride of and love for his family every time he gathered everyone around the table. We will remember his good and generous spirit when we gather around our own family table. Unfortunately we will be away for the remembrance ceremony but send our warmest thoughts and prayers to the family in his memory.

To the Mills family. Diane and I are sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Mills senior. He was a kind, engaging man who was truly interested in others. We enjoyed his generosity, sharing his farm, Creemore chalet and Summerhill home. What a life he led - great family, successful and respected career and a long life well lived. He has left a lasting legacy and lives on in each of you. Take care.

To all the Mills clan both Sue and I are extremely saddened by Mr Mills passing. He was simply a wonderful man. I have so many fond memories of being welcomed into the Mills family home especially on Glen Road. I remember when a whole crew of us descended from Queen’s for the College Bowl in 1978. Colin welcomed us with open arms. He was a kind and generous person, who always was there for his family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Sue and Jim Pine

I will always remember Colin Mills as a consummate professional, a thorough gentleman and a caring human being. He was a colleague at Towers Perrin (Now WillisTowersWatson). But he was more than a colleague: he was a friend, a mentor and a collaborator. His only foible was not remembering dates of his meetings, but somehow he always managed to disarm his clients, who loved him. May his soul rest in peace and may his family have the fortitude to bear this loss. With heartfelt condolences,
Shiraz Bharmal

It is with deep sadness that I send my condolences to Mehta and all of the family,on the passing of Colin.
I remember with fondness the evenings the three of us spent together at DeLisle, where we first met.Colin,
in his kindness, offered his help if I ever needed it,in the apartment I had just occupied:well I think he might
have regretted that offer,as I needed his help every week, and he responded always with patience and kindness.
He was a wonderful neighbour and friend.
Again my sincerest sympathy to his dear wife and all the family, and may his soul rest in peace.
