Obituary of Gregory H. Kasparian

GREGORY H. KASPARIAN

February 25, 1938 –

January 4, 2023

The family of Gregory H. Kasparian of Toronto, are sad to announce his passing, at the age of 84.  Mourning his loss are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Brigitte, his children, Anoush (Chris), Kristine (Dave), Jessica (Dan) and Gregory Paul (Sheena).  Adoring grandfather to Oliver, Tasman, Sebastian, Ava, Aidan, Olivia, Findlay, Ethan and Gregory Robin.   Predeceased by his parents, Krikor and Kohar Kasparian and his brother Edward.

Greg was proud of his Armenian heritage, with both his parents arriving in Canada as orphans after WWI. He was proud to be a Canadian, and a Western Alumni from Huron College, School of Business. Greg was a Leasider through and through growing up in South Leaside and raising his family in North Leaside.

Greg and Brigitte shared a love for nature, and together they were a formidable pair who complemented each other so well.  Countless memories were created at the cottage on Lake Huron, attending Blue Jays games with his kids and traveling around the world. He cherished his lifelong friendships, many of them dating back to kindergarten. His small family business, Turco Persian Rug Company thrived under his leadership and he helped it transition into its third generation.

Greg was humble, smart and kind.  He listened more than he spoke.  And when he spoke his words were thoughtful and almost always positive. His glass wasn't just half full, it was overflowing. He saw the good in everyone and his trust in the human spirit was unwavering. His memory and spirit live on in those who knew and loved him.

A private service was held on January 8th. In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
