My condolences to the family. George was the Unit Manger on Nature of Things and I was forever assigning film crew for this unit. A pleasure to work with him and a true gentleman. I would also bump into him walking his dog around my neighbourhood. And attend retirement gatherings. Just a lovely person. Rest In Peace George. Anna caton

Dear Ian and Leslie. I was saddened to learn a few minutes ago that your father had died. Please accept my condolences. I became a Unit Manager at CBC Toronto around 1964. George was a role model and a kindly and welcoming one. He was also involved in some of the most high profile television programs CBC produced and he acquitted himself very well indeed. George had a great and much deserved reputation and he earned that and the respect of his colleagues by hard work, talent, considerable people skills and well developed principles.
