Obituary of Agnes Junko Carroll

AGNES JUNKO CARROLL

(née NAKATSU)

1930 - 2022

Agnes passed away on November 18, 2022 in Toronto. She was predeceased by the love of her life, John Carroll (1999), and brothers Yoshiharu, Yoshikazu (Haruye), Wataru (Haruko), Kichinosuke (Tsuruyo) and Tsunenobu (Yoshiko).  She is survived by her brother Peter Osao (Anita) and sister-in-law Gwen Carroll.

Agnes and John were kind and supportive to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who will miss her dearly.

She was born in Steveston, BC, moved to Greenwood, BC, where she met her lifelong friend Mary Kondo, then moved to the greater Toronto area, where she lived out a full and active life.  She worked at Ontario Hydro for 36 years, making many friends there, then she enjoyed retired life for 36 years.

She loved food, both cooking it and eating it (a lot!), and entertained friends and family with carefully planned, lavish, delicious dinner parties. She was an enthusiastic traveler with family and friends, to many continents. Her hobbies included Ikebana, gateball, euchre, and orchids.  Her keen interest in the arts took her to the theatre, symphony, art galleries and museums. Truly a life well-lived.

A private service will be held at a later date.  Streaming of the service will be available at https://ipickart.com/stream/Carroll/.
