Obituary of W. Marie Beattie

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the age of 97, Winnifred Marie Beattie (nee John) peacefully passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour.  Predeceased by her husband, Douglas Beattie over 60 years ago, Marie devoted herself to the life of her three children, Gordon Ross Beattie, John Douglas Beattie and Carolyn Jane Beattie. She played an active role in the lives of her seven grandchildren and was the great-grandmother of nine. 

Marie, Mom, Gran, Gigi – she wore many hats with fierce independence, selflessness, resilience and an incredible sense of humour. Her strong faith and passion for her family led her many accomplishments, including her career as a teacher and speech correctionist with the Toronto Board of Education, and a regular supporter of The Scott Mission.
