Obituary of Mansour Tazmini

Mansour Tazmini  passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital in the early hours of November 2nd after a long battle with dementia. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Pary Tazmini, caring for and supporting him every step of the way and on his side to the last hours of his life, his two daughters Ora Tazmini-Miller and Jinous Joyce. He was the beloved Grandfather (baba) to Shahin, Shahab, Ava and Daven. 

Mansour was a dedicated, fun and loving father and an eternal optimist who always had a smile on his face despite all life’s challenges. He had a passion and love for music and dance, a talent for tennis, was an award winning photographer and remained the undefeated champion in backgammon by all accounts. His “joie de vivre” was contagious and he always loved being surrounded by friends and family. 

Born and raised in Tehran, Iran he found and married the love of his life, Pary a beautiful teacher, in his early 30s while putting himself through business school in UK and starting a successful career as a banker. The couple built a happy loving home in Tehran until the unrest and dangerous political climate threatened their Freedom and forced them to abandon the lives they had worked so hard to build. They left it all behind seeking a new beginning and a new home for their daughters in Canada. Their courage, selfless sacrifices and generosity gave their children a new life and will never be forgotten. 

His loving memory will be cherished forever and he will be greatly missed by his wife, daughters, family, friends and all who knew him as the kind and loving man that he was.   

A memorial service and celebration of life for Mansour will take place at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto on Wednesday, November 23 from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
