Talmage (Tam) passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital on October 20, 2022 in his 90th year around the sun. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Talmage and Lily (Tait) Vail, and all of his siblings Viola, May, Ina, Fern, Murray, Gert and Gerna. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnne Vail and daughters Tammy Vail, Anne Vail-Roberts and son Steven Vail. In addition, to many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, pets, caregivers and friends here and in New Brunswick.

Talmage was born on September 10, 1932 in Norton, NB and moved to Toronto with his sister Viola in his late teens. He worked in Telecommunication for over 50 years.

He was a dedicated, fun and loving father who always had a smile on his face. He had a passion for sports especially baseball and was a local umpire for many years until his body could no longer play. He had a green thumb and planted a garden yearly. He spent many hours watching the birds and animals in his garden, listening to country music and writing in his journal. He also enjoyed simple pleasures like having a good cup of coffee and nice chat with his best friend, Paul Kelly or playing Rummoli with friends and family.

As the years passed and more of his siblings were no longer on this earth his niece, Cathy MacLennan, would call daily which he looked forward to greatly. He also enjoyed reminiscing with his nieces Judy and Carol Anne.

His presence will be sadly missed but his spirit will live on. A celebration of life will take place in 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either North York General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Associate of Canada.
