Mary Hodgson

Obituary of Mary Hodgson

Mary passed away peacefully on October 12, 2022 at her retirement home in Toronto.

Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Mary emigrated to Canada just prior to the start of World War II with her parents, Harry and Olena Kszczak.  She spent her childhood years in small-town, Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, with humble beginnings and a language barrier.

At the age of 17, Mary started her studies at Victoria College, University of Toronto, where she met Bruce, her devoted husband and love of her life.  After almost 44 years of marriage, Bruce passed away in 1998 which left a huge void that could never be filled.

Mary, while raising a family, had a long, successful career which started in the education field at Winston Churchill high school in Toronto before she found her passion in real estate.  For almost 40 years she assisted her many friends and clients in all stages of their lives before choosing to retire in her mid-70s.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Lenore, her son, Alan, son-in-law, Bill, daughter-in-law, Alexandra, and seven grandchildren (Andrew, Christian, and Bradley Parker) and (Olivia, Sophie, Grace and Isla Hodgson).

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, fiercely independent, loyal, kind and hardworking.  She is deeply loved and will be missed by all, as the family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited in heaven with her loving husband and parents.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Diabetes Canada.
