It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy at age 95. Dorothy was predeceased by John, her beloved husband of 52 years. Dorothy was the youngest of three children to her parents, Percy and Muriel New, and sister to Foster and June (Ennis). She is survived by sons Andy (Victoria) and Ken (Patricia), was the proud grandmother to Denise, Nicole, Andrea, Justine and Juliane and great-grandmother to Maria, Niklaus and Evelyn.

Dorothy grew up and lived in Windsor, Ontario, where she began a career as a laboratory technician, before marrying John and raising her family. Dorothy always made time and dedicated her efforts for others, making sacrifices for her parents, children and friends to ensure their needs were fulfilled.

Following her husband’s retirement, Dorothy and John found great enjoyment in their trips with friends to the U.S. as well as a number of excursions to the Rocky Mountains. Dorothy also enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren. Everyone who knew Dorothy felt her big heart and giving nature. She spent countless hours teaching her grandchildren to knit, sew, bake and garden, and occasionally let them win at “go fish”.

The Koropeski family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the amazing caregivers and staff of Houses of Providence, and Del Manor Wynford in Toronto who supported and gave great comfort to Dorothy in her later years.

A private family service has been held at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel.  Interment Windsor, Ontario at a later date.

The family would be grateful for donations in Dorothy’s memory made to the St. Michael’s Foundation/Houses of Providence or Parkinson Canada.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
