John McSkimming

Obituary of John Scott McSkimming

Scott, 52, died unexpectedly and peacefully, in his sleep, on September 1, 2022 due to a heart attack.  His family was deeply shocked and saddened by Scott's sudden passing.   He was predeceased by his father, William McSkimming, and is survived by his loving mother, Christina, and brother, Glenn and his partner Christyn Fitzsimmons, in addition to uncles, aunts, cousins, and an abundance of friends here and in Scotland.

Scott's love of film led him to a career in teaching at the Toronto Film School, where he was respected and beloved as a devoted educator, film maker, and actor. Scott found his happiness and contentment in what he often described as his dream job.

He was taken too soon, and his passion and wonderfully dry sense of humor will be desperately missed by all that knew him.

To honour this exceptional son, brother, teacher and friend, Scott's family will receive family and friends from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on September 11th at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville).  Scott will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
