Having Pat, and Hank as friends for 40 plus years was truly, a gift.
Pat was a a classy, intelligent lady and, at the same time, a 'tough Hamiltonian broad' whom I greatly respected and admired.
I witnessed some of the suffering and changes she went through over the past 10 years and it was heartbreaking.
When I was informed of her decision to discontinue the oxygen, the first word that came to my mind was 'courageous'.
She's given everything she's got to be with us for this long so, to have asked her to prolong her life for even moments, would have been utter selfishness.
Hank, Katharine & Chris, Jennifer & John and Michael & Mireille, your loss is also everyone's who knew and loved Pat. We are all grieving with you.
Pat lived a life of peace and she will surely Rest in Peace.
