CHARLES HILL

March 28, 1928-June 12, 2022

We lost a wonderful man who made the most of his 94 years and was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Ric is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan; his children, Beverly (David Bennett), Brian (Vicky), Warren (Tamara) and Stephen (Larissa); granddaughters, Genevieve, Olivia, Sophia and Lydia; his sisters, Gwen Hill and Judi Fenton. Ric was predeceased by his daughter Laura and brother Ron.

In 1955 Ric passed his CA exams and joined his late father’s firm, Teskey, Petrie and Burnside, , becoming a partner soon after, and remained with the company through many mergers and acquisitions. He retired after 45 years from what is now BDO.

For over 50 years Ric was a resident of Leaside and contributed in many ways to the community, including his 45 years as a member of the Rotary Club of Toronto Leaside, with a term as its President. He was Chair of the Leaside Board of Education and Vice Chair of the inaugural Metropolitan Toronto Board of Education.

Ric will be remembered as an avid golfer, skier, walker, and for his sense of humour, adventurous spirit and stylish brush cut. For those that knew him well, they know his most redeeming qualities were his generosity and kindness. He gave far more than he ever took in his life and the world was a better place with him in it. He will be profoundly and deeply missed.
