Lesley Crisp

Obituary of Lesley Joan Crisp

Lesley Joan Crisp (nee Barton)

It is with deep sadness that we share of the passing of Lesley Joan Crisp on May 7, 2022. Lesley was a loving and devoted mother to Tristan, Euan, and Kyle, and a Grandmother to Lincoln and Addison.

Lesley was a one of a kind soul, loved and cared for by many all across the globe who lived her life to give back. It was that dedication to giving that allowed her to enjoy success at many a varied field. While at the Tsavo National Park in Kenya, Lesley’s work in creating the first viable Elephant formula helped to and continues to save many orphaned elephants. Lesley volunteered at The Elizabeth Fry Society for many years, and it was this determination to help incarcerated woman that earned her the Order of Ontario. Lesley loved her family and by extension her community. She brought that volunteer spirit to many a Cody event, Frosty’s, Freezie Friday and the Lost and Found parade to name a few of her favorites. Lesley was forever organizing charitable events, whether for the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the United Way and everyone knew she had no problem asking you to sign up or chip in.

It was her wish to be cremated and her ashes to be taken home to Kenya to be spread with her parents Bill and Libo. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday May 19th from 6-9 p.m. at the Granite Brewery, 245 Eglinton Ave East, Toronto.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.

You can only have one mother

Patient kind and true;

No other friend in all the world,

Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,

To mother you will return,

For all her loving kindness,

She asks nothing in return.

As we look upon her picture,

Sweet memories we recall.

Of a face so full of sunshine,

And a smile for one and all,

Sweet Jesus, take this message,

To our dear mother up above;

Tell her how we miss her,

And give her all our love.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
