I was deeply saddened to read of Andrew's sudden passing. I met Andrew on the MBA course in Edinburgh in 1999/2000 and we immediately hit it off with our similar senses of humour. We were lucky to share Andrew's 30th birthday celebrations with him at a typically generous, private dinner for 20 or so at the Balmoral Hotel and made the trip out to catch up with him from Australia a couple of years later. I just watched the funeral service and the mazing tributes brought back to me what an amazing guy he was - he made you believe in yourself and want to live up to your potential.
My deepest sympathies to Shelagh, Maggie, Abbey, Angus and Sue.

Mary Lee and I are so sad to lose Andrew - Shelagh and Andrew's family are in our prayers. We have such fond memories of our many times together. One of my favorites was Andrew talking me into wearing dishdashas in a Qatar sukh and then us getting chased out for apparently offending everyone, jumping into our waiting car and taking off with a crowd running behind.
Good times :) Andrew became like one of our family and is sorely missed.

To the McKee family.
My heart aches for you over the loss of Andrew. Angus, you were so proud of your son. It was easy to see how much you adored him. I met Andrew when he and Mary were school kids at their farmhouse with a couple of pet rabbits running around the kitchen! Later, as a father, Andrew brought the girls over for pony rides and endlessly drove all the kids through the woods in the 4 wheeler. May your fond memories of Andrew help you through the days ahead.
With deepest sympathy,
Diane Williams

We feel very fortunate that Andrew was a part of our life and feel blessed for all the times we spent together. Known affectionately by our family as John, we have lost someone who felt so much more than an uncle and a brother-in-law. Time and again, we saw his enormous love for Maggie and Abbey and his pride in the wonderful young women they have become. He was an amazing big brother to Mary and loving partner to Shelagh, looking out for them with such devotion. Over the years, we gathered with John, Shelagh and the girls in so many different places – around Toronto, Georgian Bay and all over the UK – to visit somewhere new or simply to enjoy being together again. Every time, he brought his wit, charm and generosity. John had a big heart and we will miss him dearly.
John, your smile and spirit will be remembered for a very long time, with all our love.

Andrew,
You will be missed by everyone that knew you deeply as well as briefly. Having known you though Mary over the many, many years that we have been friends has been amazing. I will always remember the hilarious dinners with your family and the very early days of high school parties at the airport road house. Your humour was the sharpest I have ever seen and always made everyone laugh. I truly enjoyed the time that we had to hang out. I also really enjoyed working with you at JDRF as part of the board and admired your dedication to make a difference in peoples lives.
You will be missed but rest assured you helped make the world a better place.
Our deepest condolences to all family and friends,
James & Melissa Benum

I was surprised to learn that the McKee side of my family were members at Craigleith. I had never met Andrew (unless possibly on a chairlift). I have a couple of memories of his grandparents. I will try and catch up with Shelagh, Maggie and Abbey on the slopes next season. Sincere best wishes. My prayers are with you all.

I met Andrew way back in High school.. He was the cool and slightly intimidating older brother of my dear friend Mary. He always had a funny joke to ease the mood when I walked in a little nervous to say hi, he also shared his beer, which felt like a grand gesture. All my love goes to his daughters and partner, his parents, friends and family and my heart pours for his sister Mary who adored him, he really was that kind of protective older brother. Sending love and light during these very painful times..

We met Andrew and Shelagh 10 years ago when they moved next door in Port Severn. The realtor told us the buyers were brother and sister. He messed that up but it set the tone for our introduction to Andy. He was definitely different in ways that entertained, challenged and at times frustrated. A complex personality that made for a good friend. Patricia and I traveled with “The Neighbours” to exotic locales including South Africa, Budapest, Venice, Madrid, New York, Puerto Vallarta and Arizona. It was always fun and always interesting. Whether it was a bullfight in Madrid, or cocktails on the back patio in Port Severn, we were always guaranteed a unique experience – providing Andy had had his nap.
We will miss Andy a great deal. And if we miss him, the loss for Maggie and Abbey and Shelagh is simply incalculable. He adored his daughters and was immensely proud of them, always giving us an update whenever we got together. He loved Shelagh and her willingness to allow him to indulge his whims. He was, in many ways, a delightful big kid who took joy in things big and small.
We are better for having know Andrew.
Our heartfelt condolences to all of Andy’s family.
