William Saab

Obituary of William Halim Saab

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, William, international hairstylist to the stars. William passed away from a heart attack on Sunday, February 20th, at home in Toronto, at age 83. William was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet Graham Saab (née Sclanders) and is survived by his three children, Alexander, Jamieson and Mariam, and many nieces and nephews that adored him.

Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, William was a truly remarkable self-made man who traveled the world, winning hearts with his wit, charm, and devious sense of humour. Throughout his long career, William touched the hearts (and heads) of many people with his generosity and kindness. Often referred to as the “Michelangelo of long hair”, William owned a Salon in Yorkville for many decades and participated in many international hair shows, theatre and television productions worldwide. A proud Freemason and Shriner, William also spearheaded the development of the annual Cutathon that has raised thousands of dollars for Parkinson’s, in support of finding a cure.

A small celebration of life for William is planned for family and close friends on Friday, March 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville). Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
