Vic was a great man from whom I learned much about public service. It was a privilege to work with him, and always a lot of fun too.
To Anne and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Vic's was a life well lived. I've made a donation to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in his honour.

Rest in Peace Vic. You hired me as a Mediator in 1980, and for 20 years I had the privilege of working with you on cases from the construction industry to steel plants. I recall after late night meetings, ending up having breakfast at Fran's restaurant in Toronto. You were and friend and mentor. Condolences to you family and I light a candle in your memory. Condolences to the whole Pathe family on your loss. Very sad to hear of Vic’s passing. We have many great memories of him over the years. He was a bright light of life, always taking a keen interest in everyone and everything around him. What an amazing and successful life he led! He offered good advice, good conversation and debate, and great wine. A very nice, admirable and generous man who encouraged those around him to be the best they could be. He will be sorely missed.

Vic - you were one of nature's true gentlemen - kind, intelligent and wise. You enjoyed a good joke as much as a heated political discussion. We were so fortunate to be friends with you and Anne, and to have so many adventures together. I wonder if many people knew that you were also a 'dog whisperer'. Dogs - your own, ours, and many others, would seek you out and bond with you immediately. To me, that may just be the highest compliment; dogs don't do 'polite'; they trust you or they don't and their instincts are impeccable. You will always be in our minds and hearts. Some of my favourite memories were visiting Grandad and my family in Canada. I will forever cherish these times and hold them close to my heart. Love you forever, Grandad Xx
