Obituary of Kevin Webber
It is with the utmost sadness we announce the passing of Kevin on February 3, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Kevin will be terribly missed by his sister Pam and her husband Jim and best friend Helen, for forty-five years. Predeceased by his mother Rose, in 1977 and his father Walter in 2006.
Kevin grew up in Don Mills, attending St. Bonaventure Elementary School and Don Mills Collegiate Institute. Following high school, Kevin took Business at Seneca College. With his keen interest and uncanny ability to understand the stock market, Kevin joined Deacon Barclays and launched an impressive career. In 1991 he joined his father at BMO Nesbitt Burns and built a team to ensure all his clients were in good hands. Marianne Ewasyn, Daniel Brodlieb and Deirdre O’Callaghan joined forces to create Webber, Brodlieb & Associates. In 2017 this dynamic team moved to Raymond James where Kevin held the position of Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager until late 2020.
A long time member at Donalda Club, and a founding member of Coppinwood, golf was Kevin’s passion. Through golf, tennis and curling he forged special friendships with Paul Langer, Phil Charal, Paul McGrath and Bill Morrison as well as many, many others. Known for his quick smile, friendly personality and incredibly generous nature, Kevin was loved by all. Just a walk through either clubhouse was filled with stops to chat with many members who all loved to speak with Kevin and share good stories. Aside from playing sports and spending time with his many friends, Kevin loved his cars. Starting out with a Mustang in the 70’s, the fleet changed many times and Kevin was always generous, letting friends drive his Porsches, Lamborghini, Aston Martins, and McLaren. As he would say, “it’s just four tires and a steering wheel, just like any other car”.
Kevin will be remembered by all as being one of the kindest and most generous people we have ever had the opportunity to meet. Even in his teen years, if anyone needed help, be it a drive, a meal, or a couple of dollars to help pay rent, Kevin never asked questions but discreetly assisted with no explanation required. In his later life Kevin continuously supported the Daily Bread Food Bank, even requesting all guests of his magnificent 50th birthday to donate generously, leaving hundreds of pounds of food in his garage that was later delivered to them. Special thanks to Dr. Li, Lawrence, Elizabeth, Alma, Andrea and Jennifer for their exception care.
Goodbye to a wonderful brother and an amazing friend to so many. The world will truly miss you Kevin.
To honour his memory and his legacy, our family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) on Wednesday, April 6th from 10:00 a.m., to be followed by Kevin’s service in the chapel at 12:30 p.m.
