David Sullivan

Obituary of David Roche Sullivan

David Sullivan passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2022 at the age of 94.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey Lillian (O’Shea), his parents Orland Patrick and Anna Marie (Roche), his brother John, his brother-in law Hugh Canning, sister Patricia, brother-in-law Eric Vincent and his great granddaughter Audrey Bradley.

He was the devoted patriarch of an incredibly close family: his sister, Ann Canning; his children Mary and Andy Lovrics, John and Janice Sullivan and Ruth Ann Sullivan; his grandchildren Catherine and Mike, Elizabeth and Nic, Jacqueline, David, Joanna and Terry, Patrick and Jen, Samantha and Lou, Gillian and Jesse; his great grandchildren Drew, Ethan, Porter, Sullivan, Quentin and Ivy. David is also survived by his sister-in law Pat O’Shea and his many nieces and nephews and their children. David was Popsey to many, reflected by the licence plate on his car.

David is a former employee of Brewer’s Retail, a member of the Toronto Hunt, an avid duplicate bridge player, a huge baseball fan and a connoisseur of good scotch.  David and his family shared so much fun at Bass Lake, and the ‘Big House’ in Orillia with the Dillon family. The countless memories of these times will be passed on for generations.

Many thanks to the wonderful caregivers who allowed David to remain at home. Tita, who organized the incredible team, including Imee, Thelma, Jenny, Salve and Hermie. Thanks to all the medical professionals who maintained the high quality of David’s life, including Dr. Phillip Wong, Dr. Arvanitis, Dr. Disperati, Dr. Dhruve, Dr. Al Abri and his nurse, Sasha.

David was very generous to many charities throughout his life. Donations to a charity of your choice in his name would be appreciated.  Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, all funeral arrangements are private.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
