With great love and sorrow, his family announces his passing. Ewen will be missed by his loving family, friends, and colleagues - especially his wife Debi, son Sean and daughter-in-law Jamillah in Toronto; his son Jeff, daughter-in-law Yvette and grandsons Alexander and Nathan in Vancouver; his granddaughter, Victoria in NZ, as well as many nieces, nephews and their families in the US.

Ewen led a full life over his 86 years. He was born in Toronto and also lived in Illinois, Trinidad, Brazil, Montreal, and Calgary. He graduated in 1958 with a B.A.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from the University of Toronto, and received his M.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from the University of Illinois in 1963.

He worked on numerous projects internationally and throughout Canada. In 1974, Ewen became one of the founding partners of IBI Group, where he enjoyed an amazing career for over 43 years. Ewen’s eternal optimism and sense of humour will be particularly missed by everyone who knew him.

His family will be announcing a Celebration of Life in the coming months.
