Daughter of Gordon Billingsley Billingsley and Violet Sybil Billingsley (nee Rennie). Mother to Colleen Diane Morris (Robert Harold Morris), Graham Thomas Smith and Rennie Louise Smith. Grandmother to Joshua Tzventarny, Nikolaas Coleman Tzventarny, Angela Rennie Morris (Nathaniel William Morgan), David Robert Morris and Zachary Bartholomew Smith Shilling.

Laura was born in Vancouver and raised on a farm near Chilliwack, BC. After attending the University of Winnipeg for a degree in home economics, Laura enjoyed a long career as a home economist for the food pages of Vancouver newspapers. She and her husband, the late Herbert Thomas Smith, raised their three children in Vancouver with many happy outdoor experiences. An avid cyclist, cook and gardener, Laura retired to Victoria where she spent 15 years before moving to Toronto to be close to family.

The family wishes to thank the kind caregivers who helped make Mom’s last years so pleasant. A celebration of life will be arranged by the family.
