DANUTA ROMELIE BUCZYNSKI

March 31, 1937 – October 26, 2021

Beloved wife of Walter Buczynski and mother of Christopher Buczynski, Gregory Buczynski (Elizabeth Buczynski), and Alexandra Buczynski.  Loving grandmother to Patrick, Caitlyn, Max, Chloë, Julia, Matthew, Sarah and Joseph.  Beloved sister of Richard Musial and aunt to Mariola Musial.

Born in France and raised in Poland, Danuta took special pride in the home, life, and family that she built in Canada.  She was a committed volunteer and supporter of culture in Toronto, serving two of the city’s prominent institutions.  In 2019 Danuta received the Lieutenant Governor’s Distinguished Service Award in celebration of her service and passion for the Royal Ontario Museum. Starting with the Guides du ROM, Danuta went on to become a member of the ROM Board of Trustees, President of the ROM Reproductions Association, and Co-Chair of the ROM Governance Committee.  Danuta was also a devoted patron of the musical arts, holding the position of president of the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto for a number of years.  She was instrumental in bringing performances from internationally acclaimed artists to our city.

Danuta’s laughter, humor, kindness, and grace will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Donations in Danuta’s memory may be made to the Sunnybrook Foundation.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
