Obituary of Robert Sayliss
Bob, of Orillia, ON, passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on October 25, 2021, at the age of 86. Born in Montreal, QC, on July 19, 1935 to Matthew and Elizabeth Sayliss (deceased), he grew up in Leaside with his brother George (deceased) and his sister Pat. Married on August 14, 1965, Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Pamela (nee Watson). He is survived by his three children, Cliff, Darren and Nadine; their spouses, and his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his loving partner, Frances Wood, with whom he travelled the world and shared a wonderful life together in Orillia.
Bob graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical and was one of the first employees to launch Hewlett Packard’s Canadian Division. He loved playing tennis in his youth, and skied and played golf well into his later years. He shared his kindness, love and counsel with many of his friends and family over the years.
The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) from 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 7th. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. with a reception to follow. Guests will be required to show proof of second vaccination upon arrival.
