It's hard to imagine anyone in this geography and working for the Bank in those years, that wasn't affected in some way by Bob Lougheed...whether they knew it or not. As one of those minions, I salute Bob and his style and his many accomplishments that enriched our workplace. Our sincerest condolences to Jane and all of Bob's family and close friends. This is a big big loss.

Bob and I go back to the time when I joined the bank’s personnel department in 1972. We remained colleagues until retirement resuming lunches with fellow retirees until recently.
In those early days, aside from being ticket holders to watch the Argos at Exhibition stadium, discussions at the office - and pub - often extended way beyond business hours as we tried to solve some of the world’s problems. Bob had an almost unmatched recall of people, dates and significant and sometimes minor events. His anecdotes and often hilarious stories were told with a glint in his eye as he waited for reactions.
I valued his friendship. I know from conversations with his contemporaries just how much he will be missed. Our thoughts are with Jane and his family at this sad time.
Bob, Rest In Peace.

“Bubbly” will be missed. He was always in the middle of all the antics on our golf trips. His wicked sense of humour was constant, even when he was lamenting about his last golf shot. He was a great conversationalist and was interested in many topics. He was kind to everyone and everyone wanted to be around him. He loved the “hide the shoe” game, even if he pretended he didn’t.
Our condolences to Jane and his entire family.

Sincere condolences, Jane. I can’t remember whether I first met Bob at Bank of Montreal or Summit golf club, but it was nice to have a friend with a ready smile in both places. Rest In Peace, Bob.

My heartfelt condolences to you Jane and to all members of Bob's extended family as well as to his many friends. I had the absolute pleasure and privilege of spending time with Bob on many of the Honourable Company of Canadian Golfers trips overseas and to the US and I can attest to the wicked wit and endless laughter Bob brought to those adventures. He was always keen to add a few more caps to the already impressive collection and nobody could hit the ball like Bob....(and nobody should unless they have a good chiropractor!)...but boy, did it ever work for him. I also fondly think of Bob as the kind, caring and generous statesman who always found a way to make everyone feel appreciated. Beyond the fun, Bob truly was the most Honourable of ours and undoubtedly many a Company. Rest in peace my friend.

My sincere condolences to Jane and family. I was lucky enough to know both Bob and Jane when I worked in Human Resources
at the Bank of Montreal. Bob made life in H.R. so entertaining with his wicked sense of humour. I will never forget that some of us “”bought “ him for a day in our annual auction. We had him dressed as a choirboy and sing carols for those who donated money to the Bank’s charity. He was such a good sport and always wanted to know from me what British TV drama to watch.
Many fond memories.
Val Caudeiron.

When Sue and I joined the Summit Golf Club Bob was one of the first to reach out to us. He was there to answer the simplest of questions. As our first fall at Summit approached Bob asked what we were doing over the winter. When we said we were spending a month in Scottsdale he immediately invited us to join him and Jane in a round of golf at Terravita. We had a lovely dinner afterwards. Bob believed in having a mentoring program for new members. This year the club brought back the mentoring program to the ladies membership. I’m sure Bob would have approved.
Rest In Peace Bob,
Jim & Sue Miller
