Obituary of Harold von Holstein-Rathlou

Harold von Holstein-Rathlou – Peacefully, at 101 years of age, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, Mississauga. Harold was a Second WW Veteran, teacher, author, philosopher, and musician who truly believed in the goodness of mankind.  

Beloved husband of Barbara von Holstein-Rathlou (nee Walden); predeceased by his first wife Viola Blanche Brown, mother of his children Stephen, Nancy, Pamela, Michael, and Suzanne (m. Crawford) Rathlou; predeceased by wife Marion Walker (nee Epworth) and sons David and William; stepfather of Gordon, Douglas, Rauni (m. Tsuyuki) and the late Christine Brown. He left a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Scarborough on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 1:30pm. Harold had requested that any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
