Carol Cook

Obituary of Carol Ann Cook

Carol Ann Cook (nee Sooaru), 55, of Toronto, went home to be with Jesus on October 9, 2021.  Her loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.  Carol passed away while sleeping quietly.

Carol is predeceased by her father Voldemar Sooaru and mother Mary Sooaru.  She is survived by her husband Stephen Cook, brother David Sooaru, son James Sooaru, and granddaughter Skylar Sooaru-Armstrong.  Carol will be greatly missed by her three brothers-in-law as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Carol was born in Toronto and lived here all her life. She worked at the College of Naturopathic Medicine while raising her family.  Carol devoted her spare time to studying everything she could find about ancient Egypt, becoming something of an expert in their royal dynasties.  Carol's biggest passion was for Jesus and she freely shared her faith with everyone.  One of Carol's favourite songs was "I Can Only Imagine".  The lyrics speak about the moment when you enter heaven and see Jesus for the first time.

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I'm sure she found that it is better than anything she ever could have imagined.
