Obituary of Martin Taylor

Martin passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, Diane’s beloved husband of 54 years.  Loving father to Lisa Ernst (Mark), Mark (Sandra), Robert (Laina), and Brent (Sophia).  Loving “Papa” to Jessica, Eric, Ryan, Matthew, Jack, Alex, Sarah, Addison, Colin, Julia, William, Caitlyn, and Emily.  Predeceased by his loving parents Martin and Alice.

Martin worked in the investment industry for his entire career.  Early in his career he worked at North American Life, and Victoria and Grey Trust Company before becoming an accomplished portfolio manager and principal at Perigee Investment Counsel.  He was granted an honorary doctorate of laws, and was a director on an advisory board for Mackenzie Financial following his investment career.  His enjoyment of the stock market lasted well beyond his retirement 18 years ago.

Martin was an avid golfer and bridge player.  He was a member of Lambton Golf & Country Club, Thornhill Golf & Country Club, and Pelican’s Nest Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs, Florida. 

Gone, but forever in our hearts. 

There will be a private family service held on Thursday, September 30^th.  In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to be sent to Parkinson Canada or a charity of your choice.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
