Dear Diane, Deborah, Janice and extended family,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, Barb. I am Patty Doyle and lived at 19 Shippigan with my parents, Pat and Lou and 5 siblings. My brother, Jamie and I delivered the Toronto Star to your family, and she was one of my mother’s closest friend. I used to take care of the cats and water her plants when she went away. I got to know her and really liked her. She was a very intelligent and funny woman, with a dry sense of humour. She was very kind and generous, and I sincerely morn your loss. My mother is living in a retirement home now, in the Memory Care ward. Your mother had regularly reached out to her up until very recently, as I would see her phone number appear and did chat with her a couple years ago when my mom was still in her apartment. Barb even visited, and the two ladies would meet at Bayview Village for coffee on occasion. Although my mother would not be able to quite understand this loss due to her advanced dementia, I know that she would send her prayers your way. Barb was a great friend and support over many, many years. Thank you to Barb for her loyalty and long-term commitment and friendship to my mom.
Our condolences from all of the Doyles to you.
Patty
