While Graham and I had not stayed in touch in recent years as aging and illnesses took their toll, I have fond memories of my conversations in earlier decades with Graham. He and I shared a commitment to social democracy and a better world. My condolences to Sue and Graham’s family.

I knew Graham back in the 1980s. As well as being a brilliant researcher at NDP Caucus, Graham was also the President of our small Opseu Local. Graham took on this thankless, volunteer role in addition to an incredibly demanding job that included preparing reports on issues of the day, and daily briefings of the Leader and MPPS for Question Period. But no matter how busy Graham was his door was always open to staffers who needed help, advice or just a friendly ear. As a new staff member I remember feeling overwhelmed about the layoffs that were coming following our loss of seats after the 1981 election. He was kind and reassuring. He worked tirelessly following that election and others to save as many staff jobs as possible - mine included.
As the Chair of our Negotiating Committee Graham fought for improvements to our Collective Agreement including the latest health and safety language as well as important protections around seniority and layoffs. On Labour Management Committee he fought tirelessly to protect the rights of staff under our Collective Agreement. As union members we always knew that Graham was in our corner.
Graham - We’ll be toasting your memory with great thanks. May The Road Rise Up to Meet You.

We were so lucky when our son Jake came home from Junior Kindergarten at Jackman School to tell us about his new friend Jamie. Since then we've had many adventures with the Murrays at camp, cottages, renovations, living arrangements and more over the past 28 years or so since the boys first met. I was also so fortunate to be able to work with Graham on public relations in his capacity at Inside Queen's Park and mine managing a funding program for Ontario. His advice (and stories!) were always brilliant and accompanied by hilarious stories of provincial antics. He was one of a kind and will be missed by so many. Sending all of our love to Sue and Jamie,
Kathleen, Bill and Jake Zabusky

I have had the great pleasure to have known Graham albeit for a short time in terms in Graham's life but still coming on 15 years. In that time we debated Churchill vs Chamberlain, his fine selection of Scotch, discussion on "How The Scots Invented The Modern World", music on all levels, the intricacies of tools and techniques, and the occasional waxing of political poetics. Graham you will be missed. Sue and Jamie may your journey foward be sprinkled with fond memories of the past.

Sue and Jamie, I am so very sorry to have heard of Graham’s passing. From my years of knowing Graham, the sentiment that in death, as in life, he did both on his own terms rings so true. Lots of memories of parties and gatherings on "the street" which Graham was very much a part of.
Sincere condolences,
Arlene Martin

Dear Sue and Jamie,
Deepest condolences from the Larocque family. Over the years we would hear stories of Sue and Graham’s kindness and generosity, especially when hosting “the boys” at the cottage in Bala. Edward will always treasure these memories. Our thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Barb and Ed Larocque

I recall meeting Graham in the 1990s. Graham was especially adept on Ontario politics and public policy and the best way to keep up to date was to follow Graham’s Inside Queen’s Park. Over the years, I got to know Graham well and we would talk often. And in 2001, I moved just up the street from him. Since then, Graham and Sue have long been friends and colleagues. My most recent memory was meeting Graham for lunch at Allen’s on the Danforth about two years ago. It was great reconnecting after a number of years. We agreed to meet again. Unfortunately, COVID prevented us from doing so. My heartfelt condolences go out to Sue and the family. Graham was an incredible source of knowledge that we may never see again. Steve Orsini

Graham was a very kind, compassionate colleague, friend and neighbour. I admired his warmth, impressive intellect and great sense of humour. I enjoyed our conversations on a wide range of issues. I had the privilege to visit Sue and Graham at their home a few times. It was evident how much Graham loved Sue and Jamie. He was lucky to be blessed by their love. The world needs more Grahams. God bless his soul. My love to Sue and Jamie in these trying times. Babak
