Obituary of Ian Murray MacLean
IAN MURRAY MacLEAN
April 18, 1945 – August 29, 2021
Ian passed away peacefully at 76 years of age, showing strength and resilience in a battle with IPF. Ian was a loving husband to his wife, Barbara, an amazing father to his daughters, Karen and Tanya, and a loving brother to his sisters, Sue and Joan (Bob). He is predeceased by his former wives, Wendy and Janet. His quiet, generous, supportive nature will be sorely missed by the many people in his life, including family, friends and co-workers.
Raised in Montreal, Ian was a talented athlete, partaking in many sports which included hockey, waterskiing and downhill skiing. His career was at RBC where he was a supportive and progressive co-worker and leader. Ian loved nature and animals, enjoyed his cottage and, despite his stoic nature, could always surprise with an unexpected joke.
A celebration of his life will be planned for the spring. For those wishing to remember Ian, please raise a glass of wine in a toast and consider a contribution to the Toronto Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
