Obituary of Jane McNaughton
McNaughton, Elizabeth Jane
Peacefully, and with her 3 children at her side, Jane passed away Saturday August 7th, 2021. She was a few weeks short of her 91st birthday.
Jane grew up in East York and settled in Scarborough to start a family. She rejoined the workforce after a 20 year pause to support her 3 young children as a single parent. She worked in the fashion industry and in customer service for a number of companies. Most recently, she worked at the information counter at Yorkdale Mall until the age of 87 years, where she would say she ‘told people where to go’! Jane had the unique skill of connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds, making them feel at ease-whether it be her Girls’ Club, golfing buddies, Yorkdale friends, or the staff at Maple View. She had a wicked sense of humor and a tell-it-like-it-is attitude in life.
Jane’s greatest joy was spending time with her family in the Toronto and Ottawa areas.
Jane leaves her 3 children – Ritchie (Nadine), Heather (Franco) and Kate; cherished grandchildren Melissa (James), Matthew and Madison (Craig), Bobby (Emily) & Carly (Jordan), and Aidan & Ethan; and treasured great grandchildren – Everly Jane and Scarlett Anne.
Jane is predeceased by her brother Don Godbold.
Thank you to the exceptional staff at Maple View Retirement Residence and the incredible professionals in the Palliative Care ward of Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
