Augustine Arrigo

Obituary of Augustine Joseph Arrigo

It is with deep sadness that the family announces Augustine’s sudden passing on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the age of 65. Predeceased by his parents, Augustine and Frances Arrigo, his brother Michael, and his sister Mary Frances, Augustine leaves behind his beloved wife Claudia and his son Nicholas (Megan), as well as his brother Dan (Fiona). He was a much-loved uncle to David and Camille. Augustine also shared a long and cherished friendship with Rona Krawczyk and her sons, Bradley and Jason.

A lover of classical music and Scandinavian crime novels, and an avid collector of intricate watches and pens, Augustine's truest passion was helping the people he loved. He was always ready to lend a hand to his family, friends, or neighbours. He was a proud graduate of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto, where he met Claudia when they were teenagers. He then went on to receive his law degree at Queen’s University and practiced law for nearly four decades.

Augustine loved his family deeply and found joy in their triumphs. In recent years, he was especially proud to see Nicholas graduate from law school and be called to the bar. He loved to travel with Claudia, especially to London and New Orleans, and was always a good sport about standing for hours at the Globe Theatre. A fantastic cook, he loved to prepare new and exciting meals for his family and spend time in their home with Koko, their treasured Siamese. Augustine's family and friends will miss his kindness, integrity, and strength, as well as his unwavering belief in the importance of family.
