Obituary of Suhwan Ahn

Suhwan Ahn
December 3, 1955 – July 27, 2021

“Live well. Don’t worry, be happy.”

On the morning of Tuesday, July 27, Suhwan died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Agnes Hyesun Ahn and his daughter Diane Shinyoung Ahn.

A great testimony to Suhwan was his devotion and love for his wife, Agnes and his daughter Diane.  Suhwan was a dedicated husband and best friend to Agnes for 40 years.  He was the very proud father of his daughter Diane and son in law Tony Soeyonggo and doting grandfather to Isabella and Peter Ahn Soeyonggo.

Suhwan lived to be of service to others. His humility and gentleness were unparalleled. He loved to laugh after telling his own jokes and loved listening to classical, jazz and choral music while driving. He was proud to be Korean and Canadian.

Suhwan was born in South Korea to Young Suk Kim and Hyun Gyun Ahn. He immigrated to Canada alongside his mother and brothers when he was 20 yrs old.

He leaves his brothers Allen Su Ryul Ahn (Joyce Yoon Hwa Ahn ), John Sung Joon Ahn (Mina Jung Min Ahn) and his mother Young Suk Kim.

He was a dear uncle of Judy Wong (Ron Wong) , Jamie Ahn (Jae Song), Justin Ahn, Katie Ahn and Kevin Ahn. He was a dear great uncle to Caleb Wong, Micah Wong and Kenzie Song.  He will be missed by extended family and friends.

Suhwan was highly respected and cherished in his career as an electrical engineer. He made extraordinary friendships through his work.

He was an active member at St. Andrew Kim Parish. He served as a choir member singing bass for many years. He was also a cherished honorary staff member at Blessed Sacrament Parish alongside his wife Agnes.

A private funeral Mass took place at Blessed Sacrament Parish on Friday, July 30, 2021.   Private interment will follow at a later date.
