Dear Liz, Nikki and Callen,
Words fail me at this incredible loss for you and for those of us who were privileged to know Bob as a friend and colleague.
Bob was not only a fine teacher and approachable principal but a man of great integrity and kindness. I feel privileged to have worked with him since our early days together in the Math department at EYCI and through our days at Overlea/MGCI.
May I say that, as a teacher, there were a number of challenging times where I was so grateful to Bob for his total support and confidence in me.Bob in his quiet and kind way was there for his teachers and students .
I will remember his many contributions to education but , more importantly , i will treasure his humanity.
May he rest in the loving arms of our Creator.

Bob was a leader in education. Truly a teacher's teacher. He was always calm, responsive and extremely effective in dealing with daily situations which arose in a large high school, MGCI. An excellent listener and supporter, he cared for people and gave them the confidence to perform well in their jobs. Always available with advice and support, he totally enabled me to have a fulfilling career at the school. And it wasn't always serious business: I remember lounging by his pristine pool once in the summer for a school council meeting; strumming my guitar at his retirement; his leadoff hiring interview question - with a wry look, 'Tell me again why you want to work here when you live so far away?!' He was a principal of the highest calibre and great depth. He took
a great interest in extra-curricular, like sports, yearbook, the annual food drive, and the students loved him for this. My deep condolences to the family. Thanks, Bob, for everything.

I'm very saddened to hear of Bob's passing and offer sincere condolences to the family. It was a great pleasure to have worked with him during my years as an Overlea / Garneau staff member, and I know that he'll be remembered and missed by many former colleagues. Bob was a wise and compassionate principal. We were truly fortunate to have had him at the helm.

A gentleman to the core. My principal in two schools, he always supported me and my special needs students. He celebrated our birthdays with personally delivered cakes. Bob cared deeply about students and staff. In a very challenging job, he was always a "10". I hold him gently in my memory.
