Hannelore has left an everlasting impression on me.
Although our friendship only began last year, when I moved into the same building where Hannelore lived and was active for many ,many years, during that one year period we shared frequent discussions on innumerable topics- from pets to Schopenhauer to god to flowers to family to opera to “are you still there” morning calls, and so many more… some in German, some in English, and some- when the right words came only in one of these, a mixture of both!! Because of COVID, our encounters usually took place on the balcony, the condo deck or the condo back garden. I will always remember the first time we sat in the garden, and Hannelore pointed out that the lily of the valley flowers and the violas, which were growing profusely, had all been planted by her- and she had absolutely no control over them!
Her keen mind and wit soon became evident to me; she thrived on being challenged- and the piercing look in her deep blue eyes as well as her wise words will be with me for a very long time. For some reason we were meant to cross paths, albeit briefly. I cherish every moment we walked this path together.
I will think of you often, Hannelore--- and especially when I spot a lily of the valley! I will take good care of these and make sure they will continue to thrive in the back garden, and around the condo, in memory of you, the “Never to be forgotten Hannelore”.
Rest in peace my friend.

Very sorry to hear of Hannelore’s passing, she was a kind, generous and strong women who also made the best cabbage rolls I have even had. My dog, Brody, still to this day plays with and loves the toy she gave him years ago.
My condolences to her friends and family

Hannelore was the light in the room. The smile that could brighten any day. She was an inspiration for so many, from her mile-long walks, in any weather, to her generous volunteer efforts. Hannelore was always positive and ready to laugh. She was greatly admired by her friends at her Bayview condo, the Pixies, her many friends on Bayview, and everyone who knew her.
We will miss you so very much, but will be reminded of you often, Hannelore. Blessings on your travels.

Mu deepest sympathy on the passing of Hannelore. She was an inspirational figure who served as the heart of the Bayview Pixies where I had the privilege of working with her. She was an extraordinary woman and a very special friend. I am honoured that you used my Leaside Life photo of her for her obituary. I'm sure she is watching over all of us and her beloved Leaside. We will never forget her smile and her laughter. Auf Wiedersehen, Hannelore.
