Mary Ruth and I send our condolences on the news of John's passing. I fondly remember the days at St. Mike's arena coaching the kids on the various hockey teams. John was always very supportive of the children and of me as a coach.

Our sincere condolences to all of the Donohue Family on John’s passing. I only remember him when I was little and my sister Mary Lynne had to bring me along when she went to visit Rene on Vidal Street. However, the wonderful obituary speaks of a Life well lived. It brought a smile to my face. This world will miss his presence.

To the Donohue Family
My deepest condolences in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Jack lived an extraordinary life -a loving and devoted husband and father, gifted lawyer and loyal friend.
I was fortunate to grow up on Ridge Drive with the senior Donohue's and many of Jack's siblings.
The Donohue's were unique individual - brilliant, talented and generous.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.

We remember "Uncle John" lovingly. He always had a kind word and occasionally even an extra dollar or two when we were younger.
Heck let’s be honest, without John and Sean we would have had no furniture in our first home. Fabulous that you asked for random acts of kindness in lieu of donations– so fitting!
With love and condolences,
Paul, Mary and Jia

We are so sorry to hear that John has gone, we had hoped to have a patio visit this summer when the Covid restrictions lifted. We always enjoyed his company and his stories and the interest he showed in everything.
We had a small legal issue once involving a traffic accident and called John, "I've got the very guy for you" he said. And he was as good as his word, his "guy" came through with flying colours!
Attached are a couple of pictures from our skiing days at Mont Tremblant, these were taken in 1999.
Our sincere condolences to Sean, Molly, Peggy and Nora and all the extended family Slan Leat old friend.

To Jack's family from a fellow defence lawyer, my sincere condolences on your loss. I was luck enough to be hired by Jack as his junior counsel on my first murder case. This was probably 30 years ago, around the time that Jack moved from the crown to the defence. We had such a great time defending the case, although our client did not enjoy a similar pleasure, as he was (rightly) convicted. For years to come, whenever we ran into each other, we would enjoy a few laughs from the case (I can see and hear Jack's unique smile and laugh as I write this; I am smiling). I don't know if he ever told you about the side of beef, draped in a terry cloth robe, that was set alight in defence of James Butt? That attempt "went up-in-flames". Jack will be sorely missed. From reading the obituary, and having had the honour of knowing Jack, he surely lead a great life and was loved by family and friends. Stephen Hebscher

Our long time friend John was always ready to tell a good story and always ready to listen to one’s story. John was so generous with the best advice to all in our family and helped us out on a number of occasions. Barbara and I remember well remember the summer of 96 when John and I played tennis at Wanless Park to finish runners up in Men’s’ Doubles. John enjoyed the hockey arena whether he was taking the girls to a game or to a practice. To us, John was a keen observer of life and cared deeply for the “correct” resolutions of issues and John cared deeply for all the friends he met and their families.
