I knew Wayne since 1998 -- and he became much more than an accountant to me. He was a dear, cherished friend. In many ways we grew up together -- sharing stories about our ups and downs in life, and having many chuckles all along. Above all he loved his daughter Christine - and was very proud of her. He was my friend and champion -- always bolstering me even through challenging work periods with kind words. Wayne was like a kindly uncle - calling me sweetheart and putting up with my bulging envelops of receipts with a chuckle and knowing look. He managed his cancer with acceptance and grace, never complaining and always tipping his hat to the care he got at Princess Margaret and, of course, from Mary Lou, who he loved dearly. Wayne was a special man who will leave behind many holes in people's hearts -- just hope he's found that stock club in heaven and is looking down on us with that warm smile and curious, bemused expression.

I was a client of some 15 years, always looked forward to our meetings, chats about whatever as well as the tax filings and planning - just a great guy, will miss him!

I'll always remember Wayne as my first next door neighbour when moving to Canada back in the 90s. I have lots of fond childhood memories playing under his roof and in his backyard with Christine and my brothers. You will be greatly missed.

We were served as clients of Wayne's for over 30 years and even though we'd generally see each other only annually (at tax time, lol) Wayne would be like those cherished friends who you could pick right back up with as though no time had passed since last.
He had an uncanny recall of business and personal details that could only be possible from someone who cared, which he genuinely did. Wayne's warmth, integrity, candor and cheer will forever be cherished, and missed.

I've known Wayne for more than thirty years, and was a client for much of that time as well. Wayne was always kind and generous - a fine man, and a good friend indeed. As we talked frequently over the past few years, Wayne never lost his positive outlook, and maintained an amazing calmness and cheerfulness as he fought the good fight. I will miss Wayne greatly, and offer my deep condolences to his family. Rest in peace, my friend.

I was very sad to hear of Wayne’s passing and would like to express my condolences to his family. Wayne and I worked together at Smith, Nixon for many years and I always found him to be an empathetic and genuine man. He was very proud of his family and will be missed.

We knew Wayne for over 15 years as a tenant in our small office building. He was always a courteous and kind person, with a ready smile and cheerful attitude. He was very proud of his family and we know he will be sorely missed. While we were aware of his struggles with health issues, he remained positive in his outlook. On this sad occasion, we offer our sincere condolences to his family from all of us at Evington Hall.
