Obituary of Caralinda Mary Macanuel

(nee WARREN)

July 24, 1949 – March 14, 2021

Cara passed away peacefully at her home, after a lengthy debilitating battle with MSA, her family at her side.

Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Meta Warren.

Survived by her devoted husband, James, who she lovingly put up with for 46 plus years (he made her laugh), her sister Sandra Warren and her brother Larry Warren (Darlene). Cherished by her 3 children, Aaron, Kimberley and Caralinda, whom she felt could do no wrong, and their spouses, Rob and Scott. Adored by her 7 grandchildren: Wyatt, Emily, Payton, Hunter, Lenyn, Quinn and Grayson, who were absolutely spoiled by her (just check her VISA statements). She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephew. She was fiercely loyal and exceptionally proud of her family.

Cara was an accomplished residential real estate agent with Royal LePage and yet was able to spend countless hours dedicating her time to help others. She was a founding member of the charitable organization Heart-to-Hand, supported the Yonge Street Mission and volunteered for 25 years at Sunnybrook Hospital in the ICU and Critical Care units.

Cara loved to travel, particularly by cruise ship, where she, for a change, could be the one waited on hand and foot. She loved her Schnauzers, her many friends, Australian shiraz, and steak, "medium rare, leaning to rare".

Everything she ever did was from the heart.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to the doctors at Temmy Latner, the TC-LHIN team, SE Health, Nahid and Morvarid for all of their attention and caring during Cara's final years.

With her passing, the world is a dimmer place, but the stars above have taken on a new and brighter glow.

Cara was the kind of woman who made each of us strive to be a better person.
