Dear Tanya and family: Tanya, although we have never met, I have known Stephen for over 50 years from our mutual time at Huron. I remember him as a earnest student who worked hard to do well. He surrounded himself with good friends and contributed to the life of the college. I only caught up with him 10 years ago when he made a donation to Huron in memory of my Mother. My parents were supporters of Huron over many years (both my sister and I and a gaggle of other family members are grads) since they did not have the luxury of a university education due to the Depression and WWII in which my Dad served. They saw to it that their children did attend and benefit from that experience. So, in memory of Steve, I am making a donation to Huron's Chapel Fund administered by the Chaplain in aid of students who need help in securing food on a regular basis. Each Sunday after the service, he hosts those in need by providing a robust breakfast. I want to believe that is a service that Steve would support as well. Tanya, the void in your heart is huge at this difficult time. But I hope the happy and warm memories of your 10 years with Steve will bring your strength, comfort and solace in the days to come. I wish I had been able to spend some time with him myself. May he rest in the peace of Christ. Kind regards. Peter
