Obituary of Tracy Sheridan-Hopkins

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Tracy Sheridan-Hopkins announce; that after a courageous struggle with breast cancer, Tracy passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021, surrounded by family. Loving wife to Brad Hopkins, and mother to Clare Hopkins. Tracy was born March 22, 1970, the daughter of Rose Sheridan of Guelph, and John Sheridan of North Bay; step-daughter of Linda McLay; and sister of Jason (Eileen) of Guelph, and Amanda Tremblay (Dan) of Stittsville. Left to mourn are, step-sister, Amber Merkel (Andrew) of North Bay, Krista McLay-Silva (David) of Burlington, and step-brother Robert McLay of North Bay. Tracy loved spending time with her nephews, whom she adored;  Ethan and Kohen Tremblay, Jagger, Jude and Jasper Sheridan and Archer Merkel. Tracy leaves behind many amazing friends from days growing up in North Bay to living and working in Toronto since 1992. She touched so many with her warmth, kindness, love and friendship. Her smile and laughter always lit up any room.

Tracy had many passions; she loved yoga and spending time in her garden. Her dog, Strummer, was a bright light in Tracy’s downtime. Professionally she was owner and operator of Sheridan Skin Studios in mid-town Toronto. She always put her clients first with exceptional care and love, treating and renewing skin for women and men for over 25 years. As a skin guru she was recognized for her attention to detail, expertise, gentle approach and comforting energy. Tracy loved holidays in Arizona and New York City, cottaging in Muskoka and time spent in North Bay; on the water or by the water’s edge, with a book and a glass of wine, admiring the beautiful sunsets of Lake Nipissing.

All the amazing staff at Princess Margaret Hospital were a bright spot and gave Tracy what she needed over many months of appointments and treatments. In her final hours everyone at Toronto General Hospital were exceedingly caring. We will forever be grateful to the doctors, nurses, spiritual counselor and staff. Not only did Tracy show her strength in her personal battle, but she also worked to raise awareness and proceeds to support others in their battle.
