I'm really sorry to hear about Ian.
When I moved to the Bedford Park area in grade 5 I didn't have many friends until I met Ian who introduced me to his group. I felt like I was apart of the gang from day one. Being the only male visible minority attending the school at the time, Ian never made me feel marginalized and always stood up for me.
The positive memories & games we played will always be there.
Thanks for everything Ian, you were a real comedian, and a great childhood friend.

The circumstances were near identical to my son's, James, who died on January 4th, 2021 at age 30.
Intelligent, sensitive, well respected, loved, good looking, supportive family.........however depression and self medicating with alcohol took him away.

Dear family of Ian,
I didn't know Ian, or you, his family, personally, but I read his beautiful obituary in the Globe today.
I wanted you to know I, and I know many others, appreciated your "in solidarity" words regarding navigating the mental health system. We lost our son Chris to suicide a year ago. He was 37.
The need for better mental health services is so great, and what currently exists, so inadequate.
I hope we, the bereaved, can somehow get that message across to all levels of government.
