R.I.P Pamela, missed our chats and ‘having tea with you’. To hope and I, you were bright light, pure love, and presence during my health crisis and after. Loved hearing stories, you radiated with joy! How many times, you said ‘my admissions ‘I was like a bad penny, kept showing up’. You always made me smile! No one will understand, ‘you are in the sunny heaven’. May you rest in peace. Our sincerest condolences to Jane and family. Well done, my dear! Susan & Hope Boulay-Laplante

My heart hurts for you Jane. I knew you before I met you. Pamela spoke of you with such joy. For all Pamela’s family I know she loved you all so very much. She always brought love into a room. I met Pamela when she first arrived in Canada. She came to shadow me and volunteer with me at the hospital to learn about being a chaplain in the hospital. She had so many brilliant and enthusiastic questions, not to mention ideas and visions for how we could do it better. Her smile and laugh and warmth will forever stay with me.

Pamela and Jane have been an inspiration to the Safe Place kids at St. James for three years. Getting to know them both through the Safe Place we couldn’t help but love them. I was lucky for Pamela to be my friend, to sit with her at clergy events and laugh together over silly things. I will miss her terribly. I will miss her wisdom and wit. I’ll miss her friendship and support. She was featured in a video for our safe place and I’ve played it a quite a few times to hear her voice. She will never ever be forgotten. My deepest condolences to Jane and her family. Kit and I and all at the Safe Place will continue to remember her with so much love. - Erin Martin+

Pamela blew into my life almost a year and a half ago and it was the best thing ever, meeting Pamela and Jane and welcoming them to my parish church. I connected with Pamela immediately. Her laughter and sense of humour and her ability to "tell it like it is". She gave me a great gift in 2020. She covered services for me in the summer, so that I could take a month's vacation with my family and really get away from work life. It was a gift of rest for me, and a gift of time for my husband and our three young kids. As recently as October, she covered church for me, last minute, when our daughter's dance recital was changed from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning and our little girl was desperate to have Mommy see her dance. I wish I had known Pamela longer. I wish that the time we knew each other wasn't so dominated by the pandemic and restrictions on seeing one another. But I will hold on to the months when I did know her as a gift from God. Rest eternal grant unto her and let light perpetual shine upon her.

I and my colleagues were shocked and saddened by her passing. In her all too brief life she accomplished so much for those of us who worked with her. I extend my condolences to her family and her wonderful friends.

Her accomplishments in life are amazing and a tribute to her love of those around her.
Jane, we all look forward to when we can be together again. You take care.
Remember, Pamela has not gone, she has just gone ahead.
