My sincere condolences to James and the family. I knew Barb for many years here as a resident neighbour at Park Lane Apts..
I really enjoyed our conversation and discussions on many a subject matter. I know the last year or so was not good for her.
May you Rest In Peace Barb.

So many lovely memories over so very many years. I cannot remember a time when you were not a member of our family, from when I was little and you were my Auntie Barb until when I was an adult and we would go out to a show at Soul Pepper and dinner in the Distillery district or take a day trip to Algonquin to see the moose in the Spring.
You were the last one standing from my parent's generation. We shared lots of laughs over the past few years looking at old family photos...'what was with that hair!...those shoulder pads!...heavens, who is the guy with the frilled, purple shirt?!'
You did life your way, didn't suffer fools, saw the world, and were an important touchstone in my life. I will miss you. Diane

Barbara was a large part of my life. As a teenager she lived with my parents Ruth and Phil Palmer while she and Marie finished high school in Sarnia. I was still quite young when Barbara and Marie left for world travels but when she came home for visits I was totally enthralled with her. Over the years I thought of Barb as my sister and while I trained as nurse in Toronto I considered her place a home away from home. I babysat James (Jamie to me) and over the years Barb and Jamie visited my homes in Nova Scotia, Portage La Prairie and Vancouver.
I regret that I hadn't been in touch over the last couple of years and I want to express my appreciation to those who helped her through the last few years. Tom and myself visited Barb in June 2019 and then lost touch.
If James wishes to be in touch, I am currently in Comox, BC and would appreciate hearing from him.
I am Pat Stauffer (Palmer) and live in BC with my husband Tom. My son Scott Stauffer visited Barb in Toronto on at least one occasion and found her delightful.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out, Pat. It is really appreciated. I feel bad that I don't recall any of this with Marie or my mother! It is really nice that you shared this part of my mother's life!
Yes, I do remember Dartmouth, Portage and Van. They were amazing trips and believe that I found some of my mother's pics from Dartmouth and will share.

Our deepest condolences to all of Barb's family and friends from the Palmer family in Sarnia. Barb will always be remembered for the great visits at my parents home and the many laughs we shared.

I can attest with first hand knowledge that you all were as special to her and that travelling back home was everything. She so looked forward to seeing you both, your kids, folks and brother (& your sister when she was back there; travelled to her lol) Hoping all is well with you-all.
