Obituary of Bonnie Ellen Crozier
BONNIE ELLEN CROZIER
(NEE LINDSAY)
Bonnie, 95, passed away January 19, 2021 at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto after a long fight with Alzheimer’s.
She will be missed by her son Patrick and his wife Gina; her daughter Mary; her son Steven and his partner Chris; grandchildren Matthew and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews on both the Crozier and Lindsay sides. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Clifford (Sept. 2018) and her brother William “Bill” Lindsay (Sept. 2013).
Bonnie was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, the daughter of Ralph William Lindsay and Gladys Frances Lindsay (Ritchie). Ralph Lindsay was later widowed and married Doris Blanch Lindsay (Vaughan).
Bonnie graduated in Honours History from the University of Western Ontario in 1947. While attending university she met her husband, Clifford Crozier, and was married in 1950 at St. John’s Anglican Church in St. Thomas, Ontario.
During Clifford’s early career, they moved every few years including Montreal, Gander (Newfoundland), back to Montreal, St. Thomas, and Toronto.
After settling down in Toronto’s Don Mills area in 1960, Bonnie was a dedicated mother first and foremost, raising her three children, while still being active in the community. Bonnie was an active member of Parkwoods United Church from its beginnings, including membership on several committees and very active in the Loaves and Fishes. She volunteered for over 25 years with the Canadian Red Cross, working in their blood donation events. She was also socially active in the community, including dinners, outings and the Bridge Club.
Bonnie was an avid sports fan and loved watching baseball, football and golf. She was active and loved playing golf and curling well into her 80's. Bonnie was also a voracious reader, loved crosswords and listening to big band/swing music.
Bonnie had a kind and gentle heart and left a wake of smiles wherever she went. She was also a strong and brave woman with a beautiful soul and will be sadly missed.
Many thanks to the caregivers at Revera Leaside and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Michael Garron Hospital. All of you deserve thanks for taking such great care of Bonnie and all the work you do.
Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bonnie’s name to The Alzheimer Society of Canada (www.alzheimer.ca). Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
