Gerda (as she was known here in Iceland) was always very close to our hearts and we have many fond memories of our time with her, both during her visits to us here in Iceland and our visits to her in Canada. In the past years we tried to visit her as often as we could but not nearly as often as we would have liked to.
She was a remarkable woman, kind and loving, but also strong and steadfast. She will be missed but the memories live.
