I had a wonderful flashback of generosity when I read Mr. Botteas' obituary today in the Globe and Mail. The year was 1983, I was 23 years old and getting married to my love, Janice Crichton. Janice was the niece of Nan Tainsh, the bookkeeper at Staine's Flowers. As the wedding day approached Janice and I were told by Aunt Nan that Mr. Botteas was gifting us flowers for our wedding day. The bouquets, corsages, etc were stunning. It was such a thoughtful gesture from a very generous man. Rest in Peace Mr. Botteas.
