Obituary of Bruce Michael McLean
It is with heartfelt sadness that the McLean family announce the death on Monday, January 8th, of their beloved Bruce, husband of Elaine, father of Patrick (Kelly Callon-McLean), Kelly (Glen Brehaut) and Kathryn. Loving grandpa of Andrew and Mark Brehaut, Michael McLean and Ethan and William Sardana.
Bruce was born and raised in Toronto, attending St. Anselm’s, De la Salle Oaklands and St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto. After a brief stint at teaching, Bruce joined Price Waterhouse Coopers and became a partner in the Tax Department. While he engaged in many professional activities, lecturing and writing, it was his work building relationships with clients that most engaged him. He enjoyed meeting his various and interesting clients and relished the challenge of developing creative solutions to best serve their business needs.
His family was the center of Bruce’s universe and over the years, as a coach or teacher, he was always the avid fan of every activity, encouraging and assisting. He instilled the values of sportsmanship and perseverance to meet any challenge. He was the teller of great tales and would “talk baseball” to any listener! He will be sorely missed!
A private funeral service was held for Bruce at St. Basil’s Church. Donations on Bruce’s behalf may be made to the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Centre at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto. Condolences may be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
