I just read about David this morning. I knew he had been fighting cancer though he never spoke of it. I knew him from the Heights Ski Club where he was often there Sundays with the kids. I knew he was loved at Marsh. I actually first met him in high school since we were in Howards house even though we were two grades apart and he was always an enthusiast for sports. Donating to CNET in his memory.

Today is my birthday. My first thought this morning was of DT and how I would miss those phone calls/emails. It really hit home. Dave and I shared a love of soccer that carried through from high school to intramurals at Western. He was so helpful when my wife was going through treatment for breast cancer - chatting with both of us on the phone and offering his support. That's the kind of guy he was - offering support when he was the one that needed it just as badly, truly a tremendous person and friend taken too soon. We will miss you very much.

Russell I will miss you very much. You always knew how to make a brother and friend feel welcome, respected and valued. You brought many great moments, big and small, to many people. You are gone to another place far too soon. Brother Graeme

Dave was the most rare of people - a very decent and honourable man who was also the most fun to be with and be around. He lit up the world for everyone in his orbit, and will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him. Heartfelt condolences to the Turner family.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Sadly, you all have had a very tough couple of months. My thoughts are with you, John B. Newman.

Condolences to Andrew. I played tennis with David only once at the club as part of a tournament. Every time since seeing him in the club or on the street, we would say hello to each other. Something that certainly brightened my day as I am sure he did with many others.

As the BEST friend to all friends, Dave’s personality always fostered a contagious environment of giving, sharing and unconditional support. In a business environment, this trait showed up through colleague mentorship and converting his newest friends into clients.
